Sacred Scroll Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Sacred Scroll (the "App"), provided by Nexify Labs Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Apple Terms

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support or warranties, or for any claims relating to the App. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent permitted by law. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

2. The App

Sacred Scroll lets you read, listen to and study the Bible. We may change, add or remove features at any time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have a parent or guardian's permission.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

Access to the App requires a subscription purchased through Apple. Prices, billing periods and any free trial are shown before you purchase.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, for a free trial, when the trial ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • We may offer promotional prices or special offers; their terms are shown before you confirm.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

5. Your Content

Notes, highlights and other content you create are stored on your device. You are responsible for your device and your content. Deleting the App deletes this content.

6. Bible Text and Study Content

The App includes Bible translations and audio that are in the public domain or used under open licences, credited in the Acknowledgements below. The Bible texts in the App that are in the public domain, including the Catholic Public Domain Version translated by Ronald L. Conte Jr., stay in the public domain: we claim no copyright in them and put no restriction on them, so you may copy, print and share their words freely, and nothing in section 8 limits this. Your subscription pays for the App and its features; these texts remain free to read at their sources, credited in the App. Some study content was prepared with the help of AI. Study content is for general informational purposes, may contain errors, and is not professional or pastoral advice.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design and original content, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App, including by copying, modifying, distributing or reverse engineering it except as permitted by law; interfering with the App, its servers or its security; or using automated means to access the App or manipulate its features.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services, including Apple and other service providers. We are not responsible for third-party services, which may have their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the App if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at https://nexifylabs.io/apps/sacred-scroll/terms and change the date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. This does not affect mandatory consumer protections in the place where you live.

Sacred Scroll is built on the work of others. These works are used under the Creative Commons Attribution licence, and we thank their makers:

The audio readings are human recordings. The Berean Standard Bible is read by Bob Souer. His reading is part of BSB Audio (narrated by Bob Souer, Barry Hays and Jordan Gilbert), which has been dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0. The King James Version is read by Michael Armenta for LibriVox, which releases its recordings into the public domain; LibriVox states that its recordings are public domain in the USA and may not be in every other country.

With thanks also to the public domain translations and reference works credited in the App, including Smith's Bible Dictionary.
